As we have become more aware of the damage that sunlight and UV rays have on our skin, the popularity of spray tanning has increased. Spray tanning itself has also changed in this time, gone are the days of standing around for 30 minutes afterwards to ensure you are completely dry and you no longer have the tango orange effect from this safe alternative to the sun.
The Treatment
It is important that you prepare your skin properly before your spray tan. The day before your booking you should remove any unwanted hair, exfoliate (paying particular attention to dry areas such as elbows, knees and ankles) and make sure you do not apply and perfume, moisturiser or deodorant to your skin. If you do not follow these preparations then you tan may not be even and will not last as well. Again on the day or your tan do not apply anything to your skin.
Sunless Solutions offers 3 levels of tanning to suit any skin colour. This will be chosen in consultation with you based on the colour result you require and your natural skin tone. You will then stand in the spray booth whilst the therapist spray you all over for an even result. You will be asked to stand in different positions so as to access all areas of the skin. The tanning solution contains a sugar based ingredient that ensure you tan will only develop as far as your skin can naturally tan. This means your tan will always look natural. When you leave the salon you will have a guide colour visible. This will not be the final tan colour it is just a guide so the therapist can check the application. You must not shower until the next day when the guide colour will was off and your tan will be revealed. It is then important that you moisturise twice a day with an oil free moisturiser to ensure that your tan lasts and remains even. After 4 days you should start exfoliating to keep your skin bright and so that the tan fades naturally rather than going patchy. If you follow the above advice you can enjoy a fabulous tan for 7-14 days.
